Position: GUI Developer
Role:Designs and implements html prototypes, visual interfaces and interaction of web-based applications. Designs and evaluates visual human interfaces utilizing user-centered design principles. Implements the user interface design. Works with the product development team to design online user experiences. Ensures user experience is formulated to achieve the goals of the online entity. Prefer a 4-year degree with 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works in a team environment.
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing cross-browser, cross-platform, dynamic web sites
- Solid understanding of current HTML, CSS, ActiveX and JavaScript technologies
- Ability to accurately and succinctly communicate designs in written, visual, and verbal form
- Must thrive with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
- Aptitude for and knowledge of User Interface design principles, human factors, user-centered design, and usability methodologies
- Understanding of J2EE (Java, servlets, JSPs and Enterprise Java Beans (EJB)) technologies
- Proficiency with Adobe PhotoShop (or comparable graphic editor), Microsoft Office Suite, Dreamweaver
- Skilled at creating graphics for web and desktop applications.
- Experience with software development lifecycle
- Experience designing, creating mockups for, implementing and guiding the development of Windows-based desktop applications and/or c++ and java web applications
- Knowledge of web-based text editors (i.e. eWebEditPro)
- Translate business and software requirements into web-based and desktop applications
- Represent the user perspective and ensure usability in all stages of product development
- Write functional and design specifications to communicate the UI Design to development and testing
- Work with product managers and business analysts to create prototypes for new products and product enhancements
- Maintain GUI Layer of TEDS
- Support for Marketing Websites
- Define user workflows
- Design screen layouts
- Create graphical elements such as buttons, icons, and branding.
- Determine look & feel for web and desktop applications utilizing feedback from key contributors.
